Biography

Born in Truro, Great Britain, Amber Lomax is a contemporary artist with a primary focus on painting and dream imagery.

Lomax studied sculpture at Cardinal Newman Sixth Form College and went on to complete her degree at Reading University and postgraduate training. During this time her art making lapsed and it was another 10 years before her passion for art was reignited when she began attending a weekly evening class in life drawing. Lomax has continued to hone her skills as an artist through classes, workshops and most importantly experimentation. Her focus on dream imagery has allowed her visual vocabulary to evolve with each body of work.

Throughout her career, Lomax has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Her work is held in private collections locally and internationally. Beyond her studio practice, Lomax is involved in the local arts community.

Lomax works from her studio in Sooke on Vancouver Island where she lives with her husband and two exceptionally spoiled cats.
